| Towerwood is a quiet, gated 55+community of 330 homes on large lots located just 2 miles north of Lake Wales on Hwy. 27 and just south of the Eagle Ridge Mall. We are centrally located between Vero Beach and Tampa at the intersection of Hwy. 27 and Hwy. 60. Towerwood was established in 1985 by John Wood from Winter Haven and is still owned by him. The lot rent includes water, sewer and garbage pickup. All homes have in-ground lawn sprinklers. The park has a clubhouse with library, exercise room and billiards room. There is also a heated pool, spa, shuffleboard courts, horseshoe pits, lawn games, bingo, card games and trips sponsored by our very active Social Club. There are bowling leagues and golf leagues that play at nearby locations. We have a large storage area for RV's and boats. There are many lakes for boating, fishing and waterskiing. We are 50 miles south of Orlando, close to Disney World, SeaWorld and the Orlando airports. In Lake Wales we have the beautiful Bok Tower Gardens with its famous carillon which can be seen from our park. Nearby Winter Haven now has the new Legoland, which opened in October, 2011.
